It was a mind-blowing game between Chelsea and Ajax, as both teams played out a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea were 3-1 down at half-time, but the game wasn’t over as four more goals were scored in the second half.
Chelsea started the second-half strongly, but it was Ajax who scored again through Donny van de Beek ten minutes after the restart. Eight minutes later, Chelsea got a second goal through Cesar Azpilicueta as the game exploded.
With 20 minutes left of play, Ajax were then shown two red cards and the Blues managed to score two goals and get a sensational 4-4 draw. Cesar Azpilicueta had a fifth goal ruled out for offside.
Chelsea youngster Reece James came on at the break and made a positive impact on the game and even scored the fourth goal for the Blues, but he admitted after the game that there was a bit of disappointment from the Chelsea players for not getting a win.
“It was a crazy game, being 3-1 down at half-time and then bringing it back to 4-4,” said James.
“There’s a little bit of disappointment because we had a few chances where we could have scored to win the game but from where we were at half-time, it was a great end to the game.”
