Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso was the worst Chelsea player on the pitch in the 4-4 draw against Ajax on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard will have a long night when he gets on his bed tonight following his disappointing performance against Ajax which saw Chelsea boss Frank Lampard replace him at halftime.
Alonso’s tackles were too rash for an experienced player and he conceded a needless free-kick against Ajax which resulted to Ajax’s third goal. His crosses were also terrible.
The Sun gave Alonso a rating of 2/10 but the left-back could easily have gotten a rating of just 1/10.
Explaining Alonso’s rating, The Sun wrote: “Hauled off at half-time after a woeful 45 minutes. The Spaniard was run ragged by Ajax’s dynamite front four, giving away a number of cheap free-kicks, one of which lead to the third goal.
“Not only that but his crossing was absolutely dreadful – even drawing boos from home fans.”
We can just bame him Alonso the terrible. Not for the 1st time a goal was conceded because of his uselessness on the left. Bring back Emerson
