When Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante signed his contract extension in November 2018, it was believed the France international became Chelsea’s highest earner.
According to a report by Capology via Tribuna, Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and not Kante is Chelsea’s highest earner.
Arrizabalaga reportedly earns £7.94 million yearly while Kante earns £7.8 million yearly. Willian, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is Chelsea’s third highest earner with £6.24 million yearly.
Jorginho and Olivier Giroud are Chelsea’s fourth highest earners with £5.72 million. Mateo Kovacic is Chelsea’s sixth highest earner with £5.55 million yearly.
Antonio Rudiger, Marcos Alonso and Ross Barkley are Chelsea’s seventh highest earners with £5.2 million. Pedro is Chelsea’s tenth highest earner with £5.19 million.
Meanwhile, Kante has revealed French club Paris Saint-Germain couldn’t tempt him with an offer of a generous salary because he is happy at Chelsea.
Kante said: “Sometimes, we don’t know where we want to be but we know what we have got.
“I knew that I was happy at Chelsea. Not going to PSG was nothing more than a sporting decision.”
