Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola, who was Maurizio Sarri’s assistant last season, has revealed Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham haven’t surprised him this season because he always knew about their quality.
Mount spent last season on loan at Derby County while Abraham spent last season on loan at Aston Villa.
“Mason Mount is not surprising me because I saw the videos of him playing in Holland and Derby. He needed to adapt but there was always a big potential,” Zola told Soccer AM.
“I’m not surprised about Tammy (Abraham). When we had him he was a raw talent but I loved the attitude and positivity. They have all got a great attitude.”
Do you think Mount and Abraham would have been important players for Chelsea this season if Sarri had remained as Chelsea boss?
