Chelsea have already served one transfer window ban as the Blues were hit with a two-window ban by FIFA, who accused the club of breaching regulations in relation to the signing of youth players. The Blues were also fined more than £460,000.
Chelsea’s appeal to FIFA regarding the ban was thrown out, but in June the club submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
However, Chelsea can now expect their verdict from CAS to be heard in few weeks time as the sports regulatory body said after a hearing was held on Wednesday last week that their ruling into overturning the transfer ban can be expected in the first half of December.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has revealed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to splash the cash in the January transfer window if the ban is lifted.
Reports claim that Chelsea are tracking CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov and are preparing a January bid if their transfer ban is lifted in December.
The 21-year-old striker scored 15 league goals for CSKA last season and has netted five times in 16 matches this campaign.
Sky Sports claim that Chelsea might make a move for the Russia international in January.
