Jorginho’s assist for Tammy Abraham in the 2-1 win against Watford has been hailed as the pass of the season.
Jorginho gave Abraham an awesome pass to score after 5 minutes of play, and it was an amazing goal for Chelsea’s first at Vicarage Road just after five minutes.
The goal was Abraham’s 10th of the season and 9th in the league, and Abraham has revealed that it’s something they have been working on in training, and Jorginho assured him that he would make the pass in that game.
“We have been working on that in training,” Abraham said.
“He [Jorginho] told me he was going to try it today so I just had to time my run, try to stay onside and get a good finish and that is what I did.
“We have been doing it a lot in training and we have tried it a few times this season. It has come off a few times and sometimes it hasn’t but I was ready today.”
Meanwhile, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has hailed Jorginho’s pass for Abraham as the pass of the season.
“Chelsea are young, vibrant and what I like about them most is that they’re the forward thing,” Shearer said on BBC Match of the Day show. “Always their first thought is forward. Can we pass the ball forward?
“Watch this pass from Jorginho, he looks once, Tammy Abraham knows it’s coming, he looks again and then this is the pass of the season so far.
“It’s just an incredible pass but Tammy knows it’s coming and before the defender knows what’s happening it’s in the back of the net. Fantastic pass, fantastic finish.”
