Ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Ajax at Stamford Bridge, Matt Upson believes Frank Lampard has a problem to solve at Chelsea.

Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho have impressed in central midfield for Chelsea and with the return of N’Golo Kante from injury, Lampard is expected to have a selection headache.

Upson believes it’s a nice problem to have.

“You’re going to need all of them,” Upson said on Sky Sports News.

“Look at the games we have building up, Champions League and cup football, Premier League.

“You’re going to need everyone in that squad, that’s the message.

“The best managers are able to get the best out of the whole squad.

“All the top six change their formation sometimes, definitely tactically in terms of position and players coming in and out.

“The one you really want in your team in N’Golo Kante.

“It’s a really good problem for him to have because he’s one of the best midfielders in the world.

“What he brings to that team with his energy is just world class.”
