Mason Mount is having a good season, and it has indeed been a good year for the young Englishman.
Just last season, Mount was on loan playing Championship football with Derby County, and this season, he’s impressing in the Chelsea jersey and is also pushing up for the Three Lions and got his first goal for England in their 4-0 win against Kosovo.
While many are surprised at just how much progress Mount has made, his father Tony Mount has revealed that he isn’t surprised at all with the progress being made by his son.
He exclusively told Starsport: “Mason has taken everything in his stride, I was never concerned by the step up in Championship football to Premier League to be honest.
“Mason played a couple of games against top opposition in the cup for Derby and thought he played well at Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford and Southampton.
“He just needed to find the right position or the right balance and you get used to the pace of the game.”
