Chelsea have five injured players on the treatment table ahead of the return of Premier League football this weekend.
Who will be fit for this weekend’s game against Manchester City and who will miss out?
1. Christian Pulisic
The American international suffered a hip injury during our last game before the international break, the 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Pulisic remained at London during the international break after Chelsea and USA reached an agreement it was best he stayed behind and received treatment for his injury.
Pulisic has scored five goals in his last three Premier League matches and ahead of the game against Manchester City, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be hoping to have the American.
Pulisic’s inclusion or absence from training when Lampard’s squad reconvene at Cobham in midweek will likely give more away on his status.
2. Ross Barkley
The midfielder has been out injured since Chelsea’s victory over Newcastle United, missing six games for the Blues.
Barkley pulled out of the England squad to face Montenegro and Kosovo last week due to his injury problem and it remains highly unlikely he will be fit for Chelsea’s game against Manchester City.
3. Antonio Rudiger
The Chelsea centre-back is expected to miss Chelsea’s visit to Manchester City this weekend.
The Germany international has made only one senior appearance for Chelsea this season. Rudiger is unlikely to return to Chelsea until mid-to-late December.
4. Ruben Loftus-Cheek
The Chelsea midfielder is yet feature for Chelsea this season after rupturing his Achilles tendon before the Europa League final against Arsenal last season.
Loftus-Cheek is making progress in his recovery and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be hoping to have the England international available for selection before the New Year.
5. Marco van Ginkel
Van Ginkel has failed to make an appearance for Chelsea since 2014 due to injury problems and loan spells at AC Milan, Stoke City and PSV Eindhoven.
The midfielder had surgery to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament back in July and he isn’t expected back until March.
