Valencia, Chelsea and leaders Ajax Amsterdam are all locked on seven points after four games in Group H, as the group has proven to be a tough one.
No side has the upper hand yet, but Wednesday’s game between Chelsea and Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium could go a long way to decide how this group will pan out.
Valencia pulled off a surprise 1-0 win when the two sides met at Stamford Bridge in September, and Valencia boss Albert Celades believes his side has what it takes to get the result they need.
He told reporters ahead of Wednesday’s clash: “We are up for this and we have a great chance [to progress],” Celades said. “We will need to be at our best if we are going to win.”
Valencia skipper Dani Parejo added: “We are ready to compete against anybody… this has to be a final for us.”
A win for Chelsea will ensure that the Blues are through with a game in hand.
BetVictor brand ambassador Michael Owen believes that this game will end in a draw while Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas is backing Valencia to get all three points.
