Chelsea and Valencia played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Mestalla on Wednesday night.
Carlos Soler opened the scoring in the 40th minute for the host. Chelsea responded quickly as midfielder Mateo Kovacic fired the ball home just a minute later.
Christian Pulisic put Chelsea ahead just five minutes into the second half before Daniel Wass equalised for Valencia in final 10 minutes.
Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler believes Valencia failed to beat Chelsea because they failed to convert their chances.
Soler said: “Against these kind of sides we need to take these chances. We gave our all and the fans can go home proud of us.”
He added: “We were so much better than them, especially in the second half.
“We deserved to win. This is how we have to play, we were so close to winning and going through. We have one more shot away to Ajax.”
