Chelsea boss Frank Lampard dropped Mason Mount to the bench for the game against Manchester City on Saturday.

It was the first time the 20 year had failed to start a Premier League game for Chelsea this season.

According to Jamie Redknapp, dropping Mount to the bench was the right decision.

“Lampard had a big decision to make with Mason Mount and he dropped the 20-year-old to the substitutes’ bench,” Redknapp wrote in Daily Mail.

“It turned out to be the right call. Chelsea’s opener involved all three of their midfielders.

“A little one-two between Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho, a ball over the top for Kante and bang, goal.”
