Chelsea right-back Reece James made life difficult for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha as the Blues defeated Palace 2-0 last weekend.
In his first Premier League start, James came up against Zaha and produced an excellent performance.
Zaha, 27, had a tough afternoon at the Bridge, but was able to complete the 90 minutes against Chelsea and needed to have ice applied to his foot immediately after the game.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson would have feared the worst for his star player, but the winger was able to join up with the Ivory Coast squad ahead of the international break.
Hodgson praised James for his performance after the game on Saturday.
Hodgson told Goal: “Reece James must be very pleased with himself.
“He’s playing against such a dangerous opponent in his first start in the Premier League after his excellent performance on Tuesday night when he came in.
“He has got to be delighted playing at home against a player of Zaha’s quality.
“He made life very difficult for Wilf, so congratulations to him.”
