Chelsea lost a third consecutive home league game as the Blues lost to Southampton 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

It was an off day for most of the Chelsea players as the Blues were below par, and goals from Michael Obafemi and Nathan Redmond sealed the three points for the away side.

According to The Sun’s ratings, Kurt Zouma, Fikayo Tomori, Cesar Azpilicueta and Jorginho were the worst players on the pitch for Chelsea in the defeat to Southampton.

On Jorginho, they wrote: “Looked lovely in the first 30 minutes of the game, prodding and poking at the Southampton defence but the goal stunned him and he went missing for the last 15 of the half. They Rarely saw the little playmaker in the second half as the game passed him by.”

On Azpilicueta: “One decent first-half cross went begging and at least the goal did not come from the right-back’s flank.

“The club captain did not seem to enjoy his role in midfield and looked much more of a defender than a midfielder.”

Do you agree that those players deserve the worst ratings?

However, Chelsea must seek to improve the club’s form at Stamford Bridge as the Blues have been beaten four times at home in the league this season.

  1. Just frustrated, the coach should have avoided this humiliation by substituting bad players for good ones

  2. I got the feeling the players got a little too much to drink during Christmas..
