It’s difficult to name a team of the season, as picking out just 11 players out of tons of many impressive players who did well in the course of the season could be a difficult task.
Daily Star has now gone on to name a team of the decade, and it includes only players from Chelsea and Manchester City – with the two teams having been the most dominant over the past decade, with Manchester United on the decline as well as Arsenal, and Liverpool’s resurgence only just began.
Petr Cech, Cesar Azpilicueta, John Terry, N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard all made the cut for their team of the decade.
In a 4-3-3 formation, see how their team of the decade came out
Goalkeeper: Petr Cech
Defence: Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany, John Terry, Cesar Azpilicueta
Midfield: N’Golo Kante, Yaya Toure, David Silva
Attack: Eden Hazard, Sergio Aguero, Wayne Rooney.
Of the five Chelsea names, only Kante and Azpilicueta are still at the club. Terry and Cech have retired, while Hazard is now at Real Madrid.
