We’ve brought you report that Chelsea defender Reece James is set for a new contract, and now another Blues defender Fikayo Tomori is also set to sign a new long-term contract.

According to Goal, Tomori is close to renewing his contract at Chelsea after talks entered an advanced stage.

The 21-year-old will now join the likes of Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Billy Gilmour and Jamie Cumming who have all signed new deals under Frank Lampard.

Tomori has put up some impressive performances this season which has earned him a call-up to the England national team.

Tammy Abraham, Reece James and Tino Anjorin are also set for new deals at the club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed he will be without Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori for Tuesday’s important Champions League game against Lille.

Tomori missed training on Monday after picking up a hip injury.

Confirming Tomori’s injury, Lampard said: “He’s got a tiny strain around his hip area, and it’s been bothering him for a little bit, so he’s taken out of it for a few days.”
