Mikel Arteta’s second game as Arsenal boss will be against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea at the Emirates this weekend.

The Gunners drew 1-1 away at Bournemouth on Boxing Day while Chelsea lost 2-0 to Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

Ahead of the derby between Arsenal and Chelsea, Arteta insists energy is important in football and is hoping for an energetic performance against Chelsea.

“I think energy is everything, in life in football and in sports,” he said ahead of Chelsea’s visit to the Emirates.

“If we are able to generate this, it will give us a lift. I was really pleased with how the fans treated the players today and I was happy that the players went to see the fans after the game as well because we need that connection.

“Slowly, we need to build that back to where it was. It’s going to be very powerful for us to use that.”
