Chelsea’s form has been questionable since the last international break as the Blues have gotten just one win in all competitions. Chelsea have now lost three of their last four Premier League games, prompting fears of how the season might pan out for Chelsea.

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed that the team’s mentality must improve ahead of upcoming games.

“The mentality is very important and performing every few days is key to being a top team,” said Azpilicueta.

“We lacked this mentality today to come here and fight, to be at our best against a team that were struggling.

“We were coming from a very good game against Aston Villa but we didn’t show ourselves to be mentally strong enough to cope with this.”

Chelsea have a crucial game against Lille in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and it’s a must win game for the team to progress into the knockout stages.

Azpilicueta has now revealed that the team’s aim is to win every match and that every game starting from Tuesday’s Champions League tie must be treated like a final.

“Our target is to win every game and on Tuesday we have a final, it’s like the knockout stage already for us,” he went on.

“We have to win to go through and we have to be ready because we cannot play like that today. The Champions League is the highest level and we have to be ready for it.”
