Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, currently on loan at Championship club Charlton, has emerged as a January target for Burnley, according to Daily Mail.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is eager to improve his midfield after the disappointing impact of Danny Drinkwater’s loan from Chelsea.

Gallagher has impressed at Charlton, with the 19 year old midfielder scoring 6 goals and providing two assists in 21 appearances for Charlton.

Burnley scouts have reportedly watched the midfielder this season and have sent positive reports to Burnley boss Sean Dyche.

It is understood Chelsea have an option to recall Gallagher but it will be better for his development if he is allowed to spend the rest of the season at Charlton.
