Chelsea’s capture of Willian back in 2013 has to be one of the greatest coups the Premier League has ever seen.

The Brazilian was set to seal a move from Anzhi to Tottenham until Chelsea did a clean swoop and hijacked the deal.

Tottenham had been negotiating the transfer for weeks and even flew Willian into London to complete his medical and sign the contract – only for the Brazilian to sign up for Chelsea in the last minute.

Interestingly, Jose Mourinho was in charge of Chelsea at the time, and the Portuguese is now in charge of Chelsea’s London rivals.

Willian has gone on to make 314 appearances to date, winning the Premier League twice, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Europa League.

Chelsea have made a stunning video ahead of the upcoming derby games with Tottenham and Arsenal, and Willian had a starring role.

In the video, titled ‘The Pride of London’, Willian is seen getting his hair cut when the barber asks, “Tell me something, Tottenham… did they really pay for you flight?”

Willian bursts out laughing at the question as someone else said: “I bet they regret not buying you a return as well!”

Hopefully, the Blues can get the three points this weekend.
