The 2010s is coming to an end and as we approach a new decade, we bring to you the best three Chelsea signings of the decade.
Check them out:
3. Cesar Azpilicueta:
The Chelsea captain joined the Blues from French side Marseille for just £7 million in the summer of 2012, just after the Blues won the Champions League.
Azpilicueta played an important role in Chelsea’s Europa League triumph of 2012/13, Premier League title of 2014/15, 2016/17 and Europa League triumph of 2018/19 season. In terms of value for money, Azpilicueta has to be the best Premier League right-back in this decade.
Azpilicueta’s ability to also play as a left-back and centre-back in a back three means he is an important asset to any manager.
2. N’Golo Kante
The France international joined Chelsea from Leicester City for a reported £32 million in the summer of 2016.
In his first season at the club, he helped Chelsea win the Premier League title under Antonio Conte. He was named in the PFA Team of the Year that season. He was also named PFA Players’ Player of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season.
He also won the FA Cup and Europa League since joining Chelsea. Kante’s energy, defensive ability and also technical ability makes him an important player for the Blues.
1. Eden Hazard
The Belgium is still missed by many in the club after he left for Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 after seven years at the club.
Hazard joined Chelsea from Lille for a reported fee of £32 million in the summer of 2012. Hazard helped Chelsea win two Premier League titles and two Europa League titles during his time at the club.
Hazard was a nightmare to defenders during his time at the club due to his dribbling skills, pace and his finishing. He was a joy to watch and many won’t argue if I call him the best player to grace the Premier League this decade.
