The Blues will be able to sign players this January after the transfer ban on the club was lifted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Blues have already swung into action with reports claiming Chelsea have met the agent of Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele over a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
According to Spanish publication El Desmarque, Dembele believes he won’t be a Barcelona player next season and has held talks with Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Since joining Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 as a replacement for Neymar, the Frenchman has struggled with injuries and indiscipline.
He is currently out of action with his third muscle injury of the season. His latest injury will keep him out for 10 weeks.
The Frenchman has only appeared five times so far this season for Barcelona, as a result of a mixture of injuries and a red card suspension, scoring just the one goal.
Dembele’s commitment and consistency on the pitch have been called into question by Barcelona fans. Dembele is a talented footballer but his injury record and lack of discipline makes the move for him a big gamble.
