Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri has hailed the influence of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and believes that the Blues legend has a good way of managing the team.

Emerson also admitted that Lampard’s approach to the game irrespective of the opponent Chelsea is facing tends to give the players confidence to go out and play.

“The thing I like most about Lampard is the way he treats us as a team,” says the 25-year-old, “and the way we always go out there to win, to attack and to play our own game, which is a game of lots of aggression and intensity. Because of that, we’re becoming more and more confident.

“It’s really important for the club to get to the next round of the Champions League. It was the objective we set for ourselves. Now we’re among the 16 best teams in Europe and it’s good for us to have that status.

“It shows the great work we are putting in, and it shows Frank Lampard is already proving to be a great manager who knows football so well. We need to continue believing in him and we can go even further.”
