The top four race this season is a strange one as Liverpool remain the only consistent team at the moment in the top half.

Leicester City, Manchester City and Chelsea occupy second to fourth position, but the trio have dropped results quite frequently of late, and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has even given up hopes of a title fight.

With a game to spare, Jurgen Klopp’s side are 13 points clear at the top and 14 points clear of Manchester City.

City boss Pep Guardiola is now keen on seeing his side finish in the top four and believes that many teams are now in the fighting for a Champions League place.

Guardiola said: “There are many teams [competing for the top four]. Wolves are close. They have played for the last two seasons with a lot of consistency. They concede few chances and they create. The way they play is perfect for them.

“There are a lot of teams. Leicester, our team and the four or five teams behind have chances.”

Chelsea find themselves six points behind Manchester City, but the Blues have a poor goal difference due to a very shambolic defence.
