Chelsea are away to Arsenal on Sunday, and it’s a game that the Blues must win if they want to remain in the top four at the end of the week.
Chelsea’s recent form has been bad as Frank Lampard’s side has lost four of their last six league matches, and it’s a cause for concern for the Chelsea manager.
However, what is more worrying is that Chelsea tend to lose more at home and are excellent away from home. After the Blues produced a stunning away performance to beat Tottenham last weekend, Chelsea suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat to Southampton on Boxing Day.
Arsenal are also in poor form heading to this game, and Gunners legend Paul Merson is backing Chelsea to win this game, insisting that Chelsea can win any game away from home.
He wrote in his weekly Daily Star column: “Chelsea will beat them this weekend. Away from home they can beat almost anybody. The problem is at home where they are very predictable.
“You’ve just outfoxed Jose Mourinho and won at Tottenham. Now you have to be flexible. But you’re still playing three at the back at home to Southampton and you lose 2-0.
“That was a big mistake and it came back to bite them. Frank Lampard is probably glad this game is not at Stamford Bridge because it actually suits them.”
