Chelsea have made it into the knockout stages of the Champions League following a 2-1 win over Lille at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The game was a must win game for Chelsea and the Blues got all three points but it did come with a bit of tense feeling as former Blue Loic Remy scored a late goal for the visiting French side.

Valencia secured a massive away win against Ajax to the surprise of many, which means Chelsea qualify in second place with the Spaniards topping the group and the Dutch team dropping out of the competition.

Chelsea and Valencia finished on the same points, 11 apiece, but the Spaniards have qualified as group leaders with Chelsea in second place.

The draw for the first knockout round will take place on Monday 16 December in Nyon at 11am UK time.

Chelsea fans will be hoping for a favourable draw come Monday.
