Former Southampton striker Matt Le Tissier has accused Chelsea boss Frank Lampard of making a wrong substitution in the 1-0 loss to West Ham on Saturday.
According to Le Tissier, Lampard’s decision to substitute Olivier Giroud for Callum Hudson-Odoi was wrong.
Le Tissier believes Michy Batshuayi should have been brought on instead of Hudson-Odoi with Chelsea badly needing a goal.
“[Tammy Abraham] has been terrific for them so they were bound to miss him,” Le Tissier said on Sky Sports.
“Giroud didn’t create too many problems. He ended up getting substituted, and the only big surprise was that when he did get substituted I was expecting Batshuayi to come on because they needed a goal and he’s a poacher.
“But instead, he brought Callum Hudson-Odoi on and put Pulisic up top, and that was the only strange decision for me.”
