Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was racially abused in the 2-0 win over Tottenham.

Rudiger narrated to the referee about being abused, and Anthony Taylor paused the game for a while to explain to the managers what was going on.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has revealed his disappointment at the racist abuse but admitted that he didn’t know what was happening until the ref came to explain what was going on.

Jose said: “I saw nothing, I saw the referee follow the protocol, he came to Andre Marriner (fourth official), he came to me and Frank Lampard and told us what was happening.

“The protocol was followed and we are one of the clubs..every club is together on this situation and of course we are disappointed.”

Speaking about the incident, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard revealed his support for Rudiger as he said: “All I know is that Toni Rudiger has said he heart a racist chant or comment. I haven’t had an individual conversation with Toni, I’ve only addressed the group.

“Of course I will support Toni, as I would support any of my players or opposition players, wherever this happens, whatever stadium it happens at. It needs to be dealt with. As I don’t know any more than that, we will wait for the process to happen.”
