Tottenham vs Chelsea was a game between pupil and teacher, but it was teacher who got schooled at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Frank Lampard’s Chelsea getting all three points.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard got his tactics spot on, as he ditched his 4-3-3 system for a more conventional three at the back system, with Marcos Alonso returning to a more familiar left wing-back role.
A brace from Willian sealed a 2-0 win for Chelsea as the Blues were by far the better side on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Lampard has broken a longstanding Jose Mourinho record against his former clubs as the self-acclaimed Special One was yet to lose a home game against any of his former side.
Out of 13 home games against his previous sides, Jose had won 12 and drew just one, but his 14th home game against a former club ended in defeat as Chelsea defeated his Spurs side 2-0.
Mourinho had vowed before the game that Tottenham was all that mattered to him and Chelsea meant nothing to him anymore. But it was the Chelsea fans who got the last laugh and chanted “you’re not special anymore”.
