Following Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Lille on Tuesday night, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard gave a clear hint on the players he would target in January.
Lampard revealed Chelsea will have discussions over transfer targets and hinted the Blues are looking for wingers to replace Eden Hazard’s goals.
Jadon Sancho and Wilfried Zaha have both been linked with moves to the club ahead of the January transfer window, so we should expect to see any one of them at Stamford Bridge.
Following Chelsea’s win over Lille, Lampard said: “I think it will be very fluid and there will be discussions from now about how we will strengthen.
“We lost a lot of goals and creation with Eden [Hazard] last year, in his particular position.
“We missed some chances and we can probably push and look at strengthening in those areas.”
Having stated his desire to leave Crystal Palace in the past, Zaha’s agent hinted last week that he would be open to leaving Selhurst Park next month having saw summer moves to Arsenal and Everton collapse.
“I think he really deserves a new challenge and a top club, because he is really a top player,” Federico Pastorello told Sky Sports News.
“It is surprising me because I read about a possible move in the summer but he stayed again.
“But this season he is proving that he is very focused and concentrated, so think he could be another good opportunity in the January market.”
