Chelsea boss Frank Lampard revealed after Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over Lille that he doesn’t want Chelsea to be an all-attack team.

According to the boss, he wants a balance in Chelsea’s play.

Lampard said: “I don’t want us to be all about attack and no defence, there is a balance to your play.

“With the players we have got, I think we are arriving a lot in terms of the Premier League in terms of chances created we are right up there in terms of the teams who are up there. But we are not scoring as many.

“On the flip side we are conceding, we are not conceding 20 shots and one or two goals, but conceding probably from two shots.

“We should keep balanced about it and know that this was always going to be a work in progress, today was a perfect example of where we can get better.

“We are in the next stage of the competition and that is a really good achievement for the group. But we know that once you get to the next stage and how cut throat it will be, the opposition we will be up against we can’t afford to miss chances or give chances away in the conversion we are doing.”
