Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso has not featured for the Blues since November 5 when he was hooked at half-time in the dramatic 4-4 draw against Ajax.

Since the game against Ajax, Reece James, Cesar Azpilicueta and Emerson Palmieri have started in the two fullback positions.

Alonso’s Chelsea career looks to be coming to an end after Frank Lampard admitted he is simply leaving the 28 year old left-back out.

Lampard said: “I have selection choices in different positions. We need a squad.

“Some players will be disappointed. But we need everyone.”
