Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been out injured since May and hasn’t featured for the club since then.

The 22-year-old picked up an Achilles injury in a charity game before the Europa League final against Arsenal.

Loftus-Cheek has recently shared updates on his injury progress, and the Chelsea midfielder has urged everyone to keep putting in their best.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has revealed that Loftus-Cheek hasn’t had it easy with injury. Despite his zeal, Lampard has revealed that the midfield powerhouse has experienced some setbacks which has made him not to recover yet.

Lampard said: “Ruben has had a few setbacks over the last two months. He hasn’t had a new one but it is not flying along as much as we would want and it is not for the want of trying by everybody, including Ruben himself.

“There is nothing worse than being injured but at the moment we are no closer to him being fit.”

Meanwhile, Loftus-Cheek recently revealed he’s close to making his injury comeback.

“It’s going well!” Loftus-Cheek told Versus when asked about his recovery from injury.

“It’s been a long time and I’ve had a few setbacks as well. It’s never been just a straight path but I’m close now…I’ve been running and moving, I feel I’m right on the edge. I’m close and I can’t wait.”
