Aston Villa academy product and captain Jack Grealish has gone on to be the star of the Villa side and the 24-year-old keeps impressing with some outstanding performances.
Grealish has four goals and three assists in his last eight games for Villa, and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is wary of the threat the attacking midfielder brings.
Lampard believes that Grealish has what it takes to force his way into England team and has labelled him a big threat ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
“I think he’s doing it,” Lampard said of Grealish getting an England call-up. “He’s playing at a level now where he is obviously forcing himself into the argument. It’ll probably be a matter of time.
“I never want to tell Gareth (Southgate) what to do but his performances at the moment of a really high level. He’s a big threat for us and a fantastic player. His game has really come on. He is a joy to watch when he’s not against you because he moves so well with the ball. He’s a really good player.”
Meanwhile, Robbie Savage has told Chelsea to offer £80 million for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish because Villa will be unable to turn down such an offer.
Savage said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “What are Aston Villa going to achieve? Staying in the Premier League.
“If they achieve that it is going to be a great season for them, they are not winning a cup.
“If Manchester City, Spurs or Chelsea come with a massive offer for Jack Grealish, let’s say £80m, I think he’ll go.
“He’s far better than Aston Villa.”
