Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has hit back at Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese took a dig at Antonio Rudiger for the part he played in the sending off of his forward player Son Heung-min.
Lampard has now defended his defender and revealed his disappointment at Mourinho’s criticism of his player.
“With Toni and this incident and he is having to post about a huge deal, to question him is disappointing,” Lampard said of Mourinho’s dig at Rudiger.
“From what I heard and the post match that the Son was a red card. Not a brutal one, but a red card.
“I wouldn’t question Toni’s integrity on that.
“There were a couple of incidents that Tottenham players went over in the box to try to win a penalty.”
Mourinho had taken a dig at Rudiger’s antics and mockingly claimed the centre-back will have ‘broken ribs’ after he fell to the floor in agony from Son’s challenge.
“If he does nothing and the referee immediately gives a yellow card to Rudiger then he won’t have a reaction,” he said.
Mourinho then mocked: “I hope Rudiger will recover from broken ribs because he will have broken ribs for sure.”
