Frank Lampard and John Terry have been close friends since their time at the club, and the two club legends are among the greatest players to have ever worn the Chelsea jersey.

At the time Terry was captain of the club, Lampard was the Chelsea vice-captain and the duo won many titles together at the club, including the Champions League in 2012.

However, John Terry is now set to make his first return to Stamford Bridge and this time as the assistant manager of Aston Villa.

Ahead of Wednesday’s game, Lampard has admitted that he always talks to former Chelsea skipper, but the two haven’t been talking leading up to this game as they are both focused on their work to outwit each other at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

“We’re in touch but not in the last few days,” said Lampard.

“I spoke to him last week and we had a couple of conversations. We are pretty regularly in conversation, but we are obviously both focused on our jobs. He’s working hard there to get results, as are we here. It will be nice to catch up.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
