Lille boss Christophe Galtier rested a few of his key players for the game against Chelsea.
Lille were already rooted to the bottom of the group with just one point to show for it and their manager has admitted that he was thinking of the upcoming games they have, with a home game against Montpellier on Friday and two away clashes against Monaco afterwards.
He said: “I wouldn’t say I have regrets, we have tough matches coming up. I am happy to give some players the chance to start this competition.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard revealed his disappointment that his side conceded a goal yet again after another strong performance.
Lampard said: “We’re not conceding 20 shots and conceding one or two goals.
“Today we conceded two shots and conceded a goal. This was always going to be a work in progress, and this was a perfect example of where we can get better.”
