Real Madrid signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea as a replacement for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo who left the club to join Juventus.

Hazard was the star of the Chelsea team and was hailed by many as one of the best players in the game.

The Belgian is set to experience his first El Clasico as a Real Madrid player when both sides meet at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night, but Ronaldo’s eternal rival Lionel Messi doesn’t think Ronaldo can be replaced.

When asked if the Belgian is capable of filling the void Ronaldo left in Madrid’s line-up in the long-term, Messi responded: “Hazard has a lot of quality. He is a different football player who can unbalance [defences], but I think he is different to Cristiano, with different characteristics.

“It is very difficult to replace Cristiano, but Hazard is also a great player.”

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that he’d have to sign a replacement for Eden Hazard, and believes that the Blues are missing the goals of the Belgian superstar.
