Tammy Abraham scored Chelsea’s first goal in the 2-1 win against Aston Villa as he headed in the opening goal from a Reece James cross in the 24th minute.

The first-half ended 1-1 with Trezeguet scoring for Villa just before half time. But a stunning Mason Mount goal shortly after the restart helped Chelsea seal a 2-1 win.

For the goal, Tammy Abraham controlled the ball perfectly with his chest for Mason Mount to score a stunning shot that went beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

Mount has now revealed that Abraham assured him of such an opportunity to score even before it came.

“It fell to me and me and Tammy spoke about that, that he would set me if he didn’t have space,” Mount told BBC Sport after the match.

“We knew the performance against West Ham wasn’t good enough, we knew we had to win more matches at home and be dominant.

“We did that, won more tackles and second balls, and we could have scored more goals.”
