Chelsea have been linked with Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, with the Blues now set to make a move for the Ivorian in the January transfer window.
Crystal Palace legend John Salako believes that Chelsea can secure the signing of Zaha if the Blues chip in a player plus cash deal, with Olivier Giroud as the player.
Salako believes Palace will be tempted to sell Zaha to Chelsea as they are interested in Olivier Giroud.
“I honestly don’t think Wilf will go to Chelsea,” the 50-year-old told Love Sport Radio. “Hudson Odoi has come back, and I don’t think they’ll want to hinder his development. But Willian and Pedro are getting on a bit, and maybe they’ll want someone to add to that.
“They could do a great little swap, though. Palace have got their eyes on Giroud, and that would be fantastic – Giroud plus money! If Palace get the right offer, they could be tempted.
“Wilfred definitely has the ability [for Chelsea], and no Palace fan can begrudge him if he wants that move.”
Giroud is currently third choice striker under Frank Lampard and has only featured in 7 games across all competitions this season so far, scoring once in the UEFA Super Cup battle against Liverpool.
Inter Milan are said to be strong favourites for the World Cup winner, with former boss Antonio Conte keenly interested in re-signing him.
