It was a very good Chelsea performance especially in the second half as the Blues defeated Aston Villa 2-1, courtesy of goals from Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount.
See how the players fared in this game
Kepa: Didn’t have much to do all game, but he produced some massive saves to protect Chelsea’s lead. 7/10
Zouma: Had some passes go astray, but he was a rock in the Chelsea defence nevertheless. 7/10
Christensen: An improved performance compared to his game against Valencia. Dealt with the threat of Wesley well, passed the ball neatly and looked very comfortable in defence. 7/10
Reece James: Put in a good cross for Tammy Abraham to score the opener. Was good going forward but looked shaky defensively. Much better performance in the second half. 7/10
Azpilicueta: Played with a lot of enthusiasm and had a good game. His only limitation was his left foot while playing as left-back. 7/10
Kante: Did his bit in the midfield defensively and his all round game was good. 7/10
Kovacic: He just won’t stop being impressive. The Croatian had a good game as Chelsea’s attack flowed through him. Was even much better in the second half as Chelsea improved. 8/10
Mount: Good performance especially in the second half. Worked hard and scored an audacious goal to seal Chelsea’s win. 8/10
Willian: Troubled the keeper with an excellent free-kick. He doesn’t only contribute to the team attacking, his defensive work rate is commendable. 7/10
Pulisic: Might not have found the target tonight, but he was a constant threat. 7/10
Tammy Abraham: Showed why his absence was missed by Chelsea. Got a good goal for the first and assisted Mount for the second with a perfect chested control. 8/10
