Chelsea finally sealed passage into the knockout stages of the Champions League after a 2-1 win against Lille.
Chelsea were by far the better team, but Lille made life difficult for Chelsea after former Blue Loic Remy scored a 78th minute to change the context of the game.
See how the players fared in this game
Kepa: Was barely tested and couldn’t do much to stop a cracking Remy goal. 6/10
Azpilicueta: Was outstanding tonight both offensively and defensively. Scored a good goal in the second half with a powerful header. Should have done better to stop the cross for Lille’s goal. 8/10
Zouma: Had a good game and looked very comfortable playing beside the experienced Antonio Rudiger. Made a stunning tackle to deny Luiz Araujo who was going through on goal. 7/10
Rudiger: He had surely been missed at the Chelsea defence and didn’t look like he has been out injured for a long time. Had a good game. 7/10
Emerson: Looked brilliant at the left flank. Went forward when needed and was solid at the back as well. Passed the ball very well. 7/10
Jorginho: Had a good first-half as he kept things pretty simple. His second-half performance dropped a bit as Lille got into the game. 6.5/10
Kante: Was part of Chelsea’s opening goal and was everywhere to help the team. Was very dangerous anytime he went forward. 8/10
Kovacic: Made some excellent runs to bring the ball out of midfield and looked unstoppable whenever he was on the ball. 7.5/10
Willian: Laid a simple cross for Tammy Abraham to score for Chelsea’s first goal. Was brilliant tonight and kept threatening the opposition defence. 7.5/10
Pulisic: Lacked the finish in the final third but looked dangerous when he was on the ball. 7/10
Abraham: His hold-up play was good until he was subbed off. Scored a good goal to start the scoring for Chelsea. 7/10
Subs
Hudson-Odoi: Came on for Pulisic shortly after the hour mark but he didn’t impact the game. Looked short of confidence. 5/10
Batshuayi: Had one good chance that could have sealed the win for Chelsea. 5/10
Mount: Came on late for Kovacic and added a bit of life to the Chelsea team with his pressing.
