Premier League side Aston Villa are reportedly interested in a January move for Chelsea star Pedro.
This is according to a report on The Telegraph.
The 32-year-old has found regular football hard to come by under Frank Lampard this season and has started just one game in the past two months.
Pedro has been at Chelsea for four years after arriving from Barcelona in 2015 but he looks set to leave the club in January with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is keen on strengthening his attacking options in January and believes a cut-price deal for Pedro may be possible, because his contract expires in seven months, when he can leave on a free transfer.
Chelsea can sign players in January after the Court of Arbitration for Sport lifted the transfer ban on the club, possibly paving the way for Pedro’s departure if Lampard can secure some squad players to offer depth.
Aston Villa need the experience of Pedro as they look to avoid falling back into the Championship. They are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
