Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic was not in the squad for Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal on Sunday, and reports claim it was because of a minor groin injury that he picked up during a training session following the Boxing Day defeat to Southampton.
According to reports, Pulisic’s injury wasn’t thought to be serious and he was excluded from the squad by Frank Lampard as a precaution.
The American travelled to north London for the game but was not part of the 18-man squad and he has now debunked talks that he was injured.
Replying to a story about his supposed injury, Pulisic tweeted bluntly: “100% healthy but thank you guys for the concern.”
Pulisic has struggled to get into Frank Lampard’s starting XI recently despite his previous form and has not started any of the last three games, also being an unused substitute in last week’s win away at Tottenham.
Marcos Alonso and Reece James missed the trip to Arsenal after failing to recover from injuries that kept them out of the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal. Olivier Giroud also missed the game due to injury.
In the absence of Reece James, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard decided to hand a debut to Tariq Lamptey, and the youngster impressed against the Gunners.
