According to Get Football News France, Inter Milan and Chelsea are in active discussions over a possible January transfer for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
Giroud has played a peripheral role for Chelsea this season and is keen on leaving the club as Frank Lampard prefers Tammy Abraham as his main striker and Michy Batshuayi as his second choice.
Giroud’s contract with Chelsea ends during the summer, but the club opted to keen him due to the transfer ban that was placed on the club by FIFA.
With the Court of Arbitration for Sport having lifted the ban, Chelsea are now willing to let him go as the club can sign up a replacement in the winter transfer window.
Giroud is keen for a place in the France squad for Euro 2020 and needs to be playing regularly to ensure he’s in top condition for the competition in the summer.
The report by Get Football News France claims that France boss Didier Deschamps has urged the striker to leave Chelsea.
