Everton climbed out of the relegation zone in Duncan Ferguson’s first game as interim manager with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring twice to secure a surprising 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Goodison Park.
Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has been named as Chelsea’s worst player in our defeat to Everton.
On Christensen being Chelsea’s worst player against Everton, Football London wrote: “Really not a great game from the Dane, who was given a torrid time by Calvert-Lewin. Lost his man for the opening goal as well.
“The second Everton goal was a complete disaster for the defence, with he and Zouma getting in a tangle. Not a great afternoon.”
The Sun wrote on Christensen: “Blasted after getting caught dropping too deep in the build-up to Everton’s early opener, giving him too much to do as he tried to stop Richarlison powering a header in. And it got worse for the Dane when he failed to deal with Zouma’s ball in the air, allowing Calvert-Lewin to score. Why has Fikayo Tomori been dropped?”
A Chelsea fan called on Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to sell Christensen after his performance against Everton.
@Blue_Footy tweeted: “How old is Christensen now, he’s not a youngster anymore. I just don’t like his makeup as a CB. Doesn’t give me confidence when he plays. This guy needs to move on. He can’t make it here or in this league. It’s the harsh reality.”
