Christian Pulisic played 60 minutes of Chelsea’s 2-1 Champions League victory over Lille on Tuesday which secured our progression to the last-16.
The American international completed five take-ons in the first half against Lille, as many as all other Chelsea players managed combined. Wow.
Callum Hudson-Odoi replaced the American international after 62 minutes and he had completed 8 dribbles at that point.
While Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be delighted with the performance of the American international, he wants Chelsea to be clinical in front of goal.
The Blues missed several good chances in our victory over Lille on Tuesday.
Lampard said: “I don’t want us to be all about attack and no defence, there is a balance to your play.
“With the players we have got, I think we are arriving a lot in terms of the Premier League in terms of chances created we are right up there in terms of the teams who are up there. But we are not scoring as many.
“On the flip side we are conceding, we are not conceding 20 shots and one or two goals, but conceding probably from two shots.
“We should keep balanced about it and know that this was always going to be a work in progress, today was a perfect example of where we can get better.
“We are in the next stage of the competition and that is a really good achievement for the group. But we know that once you get to the next stage and how cut throat it will be, the opposition we will be up against we can’t afford to miss chances or give chances away in the conversion we are doing.”
