Chelsea were below par in the 1-0 defeat to West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Following a goalless first-half, the Blues got stunned shortly after the restart, as Aaron Cresswell beat Reece James and put a nice shot past the reach of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The defeat to the Hammers have opened up the top four race as Chelsea are now only six points ahead of Tottenham.

Spurs were in 14th place and 12 points behind Chelsea, but Chelsea’s back to back defeats against Manchester City and West Ham have now given more opportunity to other clubs.

Jose Mourinho has won two league matches for Tottenham since his appointment as the rival of Chelsea boss, and Chelsea must now begin to sit up in every game.

Surprisingly, Spurs are now 5th in the league and four points behind Chelsea. Chelsea will face Tottenham on December 22 in what will be a massive clash for both sides.
