Two important Aston Villa players will miss Wednesday’s Premier League clash between Chelsea and Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

Aston Villa defender Frederic Guilbert received his fifth booking of the season in Aston Villa’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Sunday and will be suspended for the game against Chelsea.

Aston Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi picked up an injury in the game against Manchester United on Sunday and will miss Villa’s visit to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Speaking about his injury, Aston Villa boss Dean Smith said: “He’s got a whack on the knee. It’s too early to say, we’ll have a look at him when we get back to Bodymoor Heath.

“We’ve got a structure, a way of playing the players are accustomed to. It was a like-for-like switch. Yes, we missed Ghazi because he’s been playing very well for us, scored last week and had just gone past their left-back before putting in a cross which Jack’s ended up scoring from.

“It’s a disappointment losing him but, in Trezeguet, we’ve got a top international as well and he came on and did the job I expected of him.”
