Daily Star has ranked the Premier League’s assist merchants of the decade.

Check them out

1. David Silva – 89 assists – 8.9 per season

2. Christian Eriksen – 62 assists – 8.8 per season

3. Cesc Fabregas – 58 assists – 10 per season

The Spaniard is among the Premier League’s greatest assist merchants with his total starting 15 odds years ago.

He was arguably the Premier League’s best midfielder with Arsenal just before we said goodbye to the 2000s, but was similarly effective in this decade. He would almost surely top the list had he not returned to Barcelona for three seasons.

Jose Mourinho bought him back to Chelsea in 2015 and the Blues won the double that year with Fabregas hugely influential. It would have been criminal for the La Masia graduate to have been deprived of a league winners medal.

4. Kevin De Bruyne – 55 assists – 12.2 per season

5. Eden Hazard – 54 assists – 9 per season

The second Belgian on the list is narrowly pipped, although he did have longer to register his total.

It’s a credit to the now Real Madrid man that he was so fruitful in front of goal yet managed to provide for his team-mates so often.

His final year at Stamford Bridge was perhaps his most impressive given the strength of Chelsea’s side, but his ability to coast past players and lay it on a plate for his forwards was unrivalled.
